Progress Report on School Construction Project Funds Drive

Before the end of 2008, our foundation launched a funds drive for the construction of a school building for the children attending our school in Liberia, West Africa.

The funds drive was launched when the 2008 financial crisis whose aftermath still hunts nearly every country hit the world. The situation has greatly affected our ability to raise the needed funds. But we have not given up and will not give up.

The school construction project came about because the building in which we’re running the school (a primary school) is not ours. We are renting it. Besides, it was built as a residential building, not as a school. Our plan is to construct a building in which we will operate both elementary and junior high levels.

As many of you may already know, our plan is to build a school which will contain thirteen classrooms, two vocational-training rooms, one reading room, two offices, a teachers’ room, a storeroom and two toilets. The cost of the project is estimated at US$35,000.

In spite of the difficulty we are facing in raising the required amount, we are pleased to inform our donors, sponsors and others that, to date, we have raised a total of US$3, 924.00 (three thousand nine hundred twenty-four dollars).

We wish to thank all those of you who have contributed to the school construction project since we launched it about two years ago. However, as you can see, we have a long way to go. We still need to raise about US$31,000.

We are therefore appealing to everyone to help us help the kids by making any contributions to the school construction project. We would like to start the foundation of the building next summer.
